WHAT THAT SAYS IS, IS THAT THOSE EMS RATES CAN BE ADJUSTED ANNUALLY, AND THEY SET THE RATE BY EITHER THE MEDICARE AMBULANCE INFLATION FACTOR OR 10% OF THE PRIOR YEAR'S RATE. AND THAT RIGHT THERE IS PROBABLY THE MAIN REASON WE BROUGHT THIS IN FRONT OF YOU. THE INCREASE IS SLIGHT, BUT THERE'S NO CATCH UP. ACCORDING TO THIS, THIS SENATE BILL, THERE'S NO CATCH UP IN THE FUTURE. SO IF WE DON'T TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THAT 2% THIS YEAR, THERE WILL NOT BE ANY. WE WON'T BE ABLE TO DO THAT NEXT YEAR. WE'LL ONLY BE ABLE TO INCREASE WHAT THAT AMOUNT IS. SO WE

LOOKED AT OUR EMS BUDGET FROM 24 TO 25. WE HAD ABOUT A 20% INCREASE IN THOSE AREAS, WITH THE BIGGEST ONE BEING EMS VEHICLE MAINTENANCE. OF COURSE, WE'RE USING THOSE VEHICLES A LITTLE MORE REGULARLY NOW THAN WE WERE IN THE PAST. OUR FLEET IS STILL OLDER. WE'VE GOT A PLAN IN PLACE TO ROTATE THOSE OUT, BUT FOR NOW THAT THAT'S STILL A LITTLE BIT OLDER. AND THEN OF COURSE, EMS CONTRACTUAL FEES WENT UP SLIGHTLY. SO THERE WAS A THERE WAS AN INCREASE IN OUR EMS BUDGET FROM FROM YEAR TO YEAR, THE ANNUAL RATE REVIEW. AND THAT'S SOMETHING THAT WE'D LIKE SOME DIRECTION ON AT THE END OF THIS TONIGHT AS WELL, IS MULTI YEAR CATCH UP INCREASES ARE NOT PERMITTED. AS I AS I SAID A MINUTE AGO. THIS IS DUE ON MARCH 23RD. SO WE WE CAN STILL MEET THE DEADLINE. IF WE DON'T IF WE DON'T SUBMIT ANYTHING THEN OUR CURRENT RATES WILL REMAIN IN PLACE FOR FOR THE NEXT YEAR. THE MOST RECENTLY PUBLISHED RATE WHICH WE HAVE ON ON THE CITY'S WEBSITE, AND IT'S ON OUR FEE SCHEDULE, WE'LL CONTINUE TO GOVERN AND ANY FUTURE INCREASES WILL BE ALLOWED TO THAT YEAR'S ANNUAL CAP. SO TWO THINGS. THE NEXT TWO SLIDES, THIS IS OUR CURRENT RATE VERSUS OUR PROPOSED RATE. SO THE INCREASE IS ONLY SLIGHT. BUT I THINK THE THE BIGGEST THING IS THIS BOTTOM SECTION HERE. IT'S A 2% INCREASE. ABOUT 5% OF OUR CALLS ARE ARE I'M SORRY ABOUT 69% OF OUR CALLS, OUR ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT. AND WE CURRENTLY BILL 553 FOR THOSE I'M SORRY. WE CURRENTLY COLLECT ON AN AVERAGE OF 553 FOR THOSE THAT THAT COLLECTION WITH A 2% INCREASE WOULD BE $11. AND THEN THE CALLS ARE BROKEN DOWN BY EACH CALL TYPE OR EACH TRANSPORT TYPE. SO I THINK MOST CITIZENS WOULD AGREE THAT WE WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT WE CAN CONTINUE TO COVER THE BUDGET OF THE EMS DIVISION, BECAUSE THAT IS ONE PLACE FROM MY PERSPECTIVE, AND I BELIEVE MOST PEOPLE'S THAT YOU DON'T WANT TO TRY TO SAVE, SO TO SPEAK.
