THEY'RE DOING CLEANUP THIS WEEK. THE MCCRARY CROSSING FOR THE TRAIL CONNECTION WITH MURPHY.

THEY HAVE STARTED THE SAW CUTTING AND DEMOLITION WHERE THAT'S GOING TO CUT THROUGH. SO THAT SHOULD BE WRAPPING UP VERY SOON. AND THEN LASTLY, KRAMER STATES TRAIL WILL THEY'LL START WORKING ON THAT ON THAT ONE IN THE NEXT WEEK OR SO. WE'RE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES THERE AS THAT. SO SUMMER CAMP THIS YEAR WAS INCREDIBLY SUCCESSFUL. WE BROUGHT IN ALMOST A QUARTER MILLION DOLLARS JUST IN SUMMER CAMPS ALONE. THAT'S NOT EVEN INCLUDING REC PASSES. IT WAS INCREDIBLY BUSY SUMMER. EVERY SINGLE SPACE AT THE REC CENTER WAS PACKED. THIS HAD THIS WAS THE FIRST SUMMER WE'VE HAD THIS HIGH OF A PARTICIPATION, AND WE'VE ONLY ADDED ONE CAMP THIS SUMMER, AS IN COMPARISON TO LAST YEAR, THIS WAS A GOOD BASELINE FOR THE REC CENTER.

THE SPACES ARE COMPLETELY FILLED, FILLED, AND MOST OF THE CAMPS FILLED. WE ONLY CANCELED TWO DUE TO LACK OF ENROLLMENT, AND ONE BECAUSE WE LOST ONE OF OUR PROVIDERS THAT DECIDED NOT TO PARTICIPATE. SO THAT'S PRETTY INCREDIBLE. IT KIND OF GIVES US A GAUGE OF WHAT'S THE MAX THAT WE CAN HANDLE NEXT DOOR. THE CAMP OFFERINGS TOTALED 83 CAMPS. THERE WERE ALMOST 1500 KIDS THAT PARTICIPATED THIS SUMMER. OUR CAPACITY WAS AT 81% FILLED. AND THERE WERE. WE AVERAGED ABOUT 18 KIDS PER CAMP, AND THE AVERAGE COST PER CAMP WAS $155.

I LOVE THIS NUMBER. THIS NEXT NUMBER, OUR BROCHURE TO PARTICIPANT RATIO WAS 1.7 THIS YEAR. THAT MEANS THAT WE ONLY HAD TO PRODUCE 1.7 BROCHURES TO GET ONE REGISTRATION, WHICH IS ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL. AND OUR RESPONSE RATE WAS ABOUT 60%. THE CANCELLATION RATE WAS ONLY 3.6%. VERY SUCCESSFUL SUMMER. DO YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT HOW SUMMER WENT? NOPE. OKAY.

SO THE FEASIBILITY STUDY FOR THE PARK SERVICE CENTER, THAT'S GOING TO BE A JOINT PROJECT WITH THE PUBLIC WORKS SERVICE CENTER, BECAUSE WE'RE THERE TOGETHER ON THE SAME COMPLEX. THE CONSTRUCTION FOR COMMUNITY PARK SOUTH PARKING, THAT MONEY HAD TO BE ROLLED BECAUSE WE'RE NOT FAR ENOUGH ALONG ON THAT PROJECT TO DO THE CONSTRUCTION YET. THE PICKLEBALL COURT, SHADE AND LIGHTING HAS BEEN ROLLED. FOUNDERS PARK PARKING HAS BEEN ROLLED, COMMUNITY PARK PARKING HAS ROLLED. YEAR INCLUDE. BROWN HOUSE. WE HAD EXTENSIVE REPAIRS TO THE EXTERIOR, WOODWORK AND PAINT FOUNDATION, REPAIRS AND STAINED GLASS REPAIRS, AND FOR COMMUNITY PARK CENTER. JUST A REMINDER, WE COMPLETED THE RENOVATIONS, INCLUDING THE ADA RESTROOMS, FITNESS AREA, A LOT OF COSMETIC UPGRADES, FLOORING UPGRADES, ADDITIONAL PARKING, AND LIGHTING ON THE EXTERIOR.

WE WERE ABLE TO UPGRADE ONE OF THE PART TIME POSITIONS TO A FULL TIME POSITION. WE REBRANDED THE FACILITY SO THAT WE COULD START TAKING RESERVATIONS THERE, AND THEN WE REPLACED ONE OF THE BUSSES WITH A VAN AND LET'S SEE, FOUR FOUR RV PARKS. SOME OF THEIR ACCOMPLISHMENTS THIS YEAR INCLUDE. THEY WERE ABLE TO HIRE AN EQUIPMENT OPERATOR FOR THE ATHLETICS DIVISION, REPLACED SEVERAL PIECES OF EQUIPMENT, INCLUDING A SPRAY RIG RIGHT ON BROADCASTER, FRONT LOAD TRACTOR AND A TRUCK. WE HAD TWO PLAYGROUND REPLACEMENTS, INCLUDING RIVERWAY AND SAGE CREEK PARK, AND BEGAN. SORRY, WE DIDN'T JUST BEGIN. WE WERE ABLE TO DO THE PLANS AND THE CONSTRUCTION FOR THE FOUNDERS PARK SOUTHFIELDS THAT WERE WRAPPING UP RIGHT NOW. FOR THE REC CENTER. IT WAS NAMED 2025 BEST FITNESS FACILITY IN WILEY BY WILEY NEWS READER POLL. WE PROVIDED 21% NEW ON CAMPS AND CLASSES. OUR BENCHMARK IS 20% ADDED MORE OPEN PLAY TIMES FOR PICKLEBALL. WE ACHIEVED AN 18% INCREASE IN REC PASS HOLDER ACTIVITIES DURING THE FISCAL YEAR. FOR AND 40% OF OUR SUMMER CAMP REGISTRATIONS. THOSE KIDDOS ALSO HAVE A REC PASS SO THEY FEED INTO OUR OTHER PROGRAMS. THERE WE REPLACE SEVERAL PIECES OF FITNESS EQUIPMENT INCLUDING LEG EXTENSION, ABDOMINAL CRUNCH, AB BENCH, CHIN DIP ASSIST, CONVERGING SHOULDER PRESS, BICEP CURL, TRICEP EXTENSION, REAR DELT PEC FLY AND INNER OUTER THIGH MACHINE. SO WE WERE ABLE TO REPLACE QUITE A BIT OF EQUIPMENT THIS YEAR. WE DID ONE PART TIME UPGRADE TO FULL TIME. WE WERE ABLE TO INCREASE REC PASS REVENUE PER MONTH BY AN AVERAGE OF 30%, INCREASE OF 23% IN CAMP REVENUE, AND OUR PARTICIPANT TO BROCHURE RATE WAS 1 TO 2. SO FOR EVERY BROCHURE SORRY FOR EVERY YEAH TWO BROCHURES. WE WERE ABLE TO GENERATE ONE REGISTRATION AND THEY LAUNCHED A VERY ROBUST ONE YEAR BUSINESS PLAN. FOR THIS NEXT FISCAL YEAR, WHICH LIKE I SAID, STARTS OCTOBER 1ST. I WANTED TO SHARE SOME OF THE NOTEWORTHY THINGS THAT WERE PASSED DURING THE FORBY BOARD MEETING. THE THERE WILL BE A WE HAVE THREE. LET'S SEE. ONE, TWO, THREE, THREE MORE UPGRADES FROM PART TIME TO FULL TIME. ONE WILL BE AT CPC, TWO WILL BE AT THE REC CENTER. SO WE'RE ABLE TO, YOU KNOW, IF WE'RE ABLE TO DO ONE FULL TIME PERSON VERSUS HAVING 2 OR 3 PART TIME STAFF, THAT'S A GOAL THAT WE HAVE. AND WE'VE BEEN KIND OF CHIPPING AWAY AT THAT OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS. THE EQUIPMENT THAT WAS APPROVED INCLUDES A REFRIGERATOR FREEZER COMBO FOR COMMUNITY PARK CENTER. WE WILL BE RECEIVING ANOTHER FORD TRANSIT VAN FOR COMMUNITY PARK CENTER. THAT MEANS WE WILL BE DONE GETTING THOSE, AND WE'LL BE ABLE TO FINALLY RETIRE ALL OF THE BUSSES. THE LAST OF OUR BUSSES THAT HAVE BEEN GIVING US SO MANY PROBLEMS WILL BE REPLACING AN ENFIELD MACHINE FOR ATHLETICS, AND THEN THE TWO PLAYGROUNDS THAT WILL BE ADDRESSED THIS YEAR WILL BE CREEKSIDE SOUTH AND SOUTH BROOK PARK, REPLACING A ZERO TURN MOWER FOR PARKS AND ATHLETICS, AND THEN FINALLY THE REC CENTER WILL BE RECEIVING SOME PADDING IN THE GYM ON THE WALLS. 12 BOARDS ACROSS THE CITY, AND THERE'S SOME INCONSISTENCIES IN HOW THE BOARDS ARE OPERATING.

THE BYLAWS ARE THEY KIND OF VARY FROM ONE BOARD TO THE NEXT. AND SHE HIT ON FIVE DIFFERENT TOPICS THAT SHE WANTED TO GET COUNCIL'S FEEDBACK ON WHETHER OR NOT THEY WANTED IT TO ADDRESS THESE ACROSS THE BOARD, OR IF THEY NEEDED TO FELT LIKE THEY NEEDED TO HAVE SOME.

VARIANCE BETWEEN THE DIFFERENT BOARDS. SO HERE'S HERE'S KIND OF WHERE THEY LANDED. THE FIRST ONE WAS VOTER REGISTRATION STATUS FOR THIS BOARD. WE DO REQUIRE VOTER REGISTRATION STATUS, BUT THAT WASN'T THE CASE FOR ALL OF THE BOARDS. SO LIKE OUR FOR BOARD THAT TARA SERVES ON CURRENTLY IT DOES NOT REQUIRE THAT. BUT COUNCIL DID SAY THAT THAT IS SOMETHING THAT THEY'RE INTERESTED IN APPLYING TO ALL OF THE BOARDS. SO I'M JUST KIND OF KEEP THAT IN MIND.

IF ANYONE ASKS YOU, HEY, LIKE HOW DID YOU GET ON THE BOARD? THESE ARE SOME CHANGES THAT COULD POTENTIALLY AFFECT OTHERS. RESIDENCY WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS WAS THE NEXT ONE. SO CURRENTLY FOR THIS BOARD AND THEN FOR ART BOARD, WHICH OUR DEPARTMENT IS ALSO OVER, WE DO NOT REQUIRE RESIDENCY. BUT TARA'S FOR BOARD DOES REQUIRE RESIDENCY. SO EVEN LIKE IN OUR OWN DEPARTMENT WE DON'T HAVE WE HAVE SOME DISCREPANCIES THERE. THERE ARE A COUPLE OF EXCEPTIONS, LIKE THE ANIMAL SHELTER THEY POINTED OUT FOR THEIR BOARD THAT LIKE THEY HAVE TO HAVE A VET ON THEIR BOARD SO THEY WILL HAVE TO MAKE AN EXCEPTION, YOU KNOW, FOR SOME OF THE POSITIONS THAT THEY HAVE. AND THEN HRC'S BOARD WILL HAVE A THEY MAY HAVE SOME VARIATION AS WELL. BUT EVERYBODY ELSE, COUNCIL AGREED THAT THEY'RE IN FAVOR OF FILLING VACANCIES WITH CITY RESIDENTS BEFORE NOW. THAT WASN'T NO, NO. YOU HAVE SOME RIGHT. YEAH. YES. YOU COULD.

YES. YEAH. THEN THE NEXT ONE IS KIND OF ON ON THE SAME LINES AS THE MINIMUM LENGTH OF RESIDENCY.

SO CURRENTLY WE DON'T HAVE A MINIMUM LENGTH OF RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT. SOME OF THE BOARDS HAVE A 12 MONTH MINIMUM REQUIREMENT. AND COUNCIL'S IN FAVOR OF MAKING THAT ACROSS ALL OF THE BOARDS AS WELL AS A 12 MONTH MINIMUM. THAT WAY, PEOPLE, YOU KNOW, NEW RESIDENTS HAVE SOME TIME TO ACCLIMATE AND GET SOME SOME KIND OF BASELINE OF HOW THE CITY OPERATES. THE NEXT TWO KIND OF GO TOGETHER. THE FIRST ONE WAS EMPLOYMENT WITH THE CITY, SO CURRENTLY IT'S NOT PERMISSIBLE FOR ANY OF OUR BOARDS TO HAVE EMPLOYEES. LET ME MAKE SURE I'M SAYING THAT.

RIGHT. NO, IT'S NOT PROHIBITED. I'M LIKE DOUBLE NEGATIVE THERE. SO CURRENTLY A EMPLOYEE TECHNICALLY IS ABLE TO BE ON A BOARD FOR MOST OF THE BOARDS, WITH A FEW EXCEPTIONS, LIKE OUR ART BOARD DOESN'T ALLOW EMPLOYEES TO BE ON THAT BOARD. SO THERE WAS A LOT OF DISCUSSION ABOUT WHAT TO DO WITH THAT. THE COUNCIL FINALLY LANDED ON THEIR IN FAVOR OF HAVING NO CITY STAFF SERVING ON ANY BOARD. WITH A FEW EXCEPTIONS, ANIMAL SHELTER.

BECAUSE OF THE WAY THEY'RE FUNDED, THEY ARE REQUIRED BY LEGISLATION TO HAVE AN EMPLOYEE ON THEIR BOARD. BUT I THINK THAT MAY BE THE ONLY ONE. SO. THAT DOES IMPACT THIS BOARD.

AND OUR FOUR BE BOARD. IF THEY DECIDE TO. TO MOVE FORWARD WITH THAT. AND KIND OF ALONG THE SAME VEIN WAS IF YOUR SPOUSE WANTED TO PARTICIPATE IN A BOARD, THEY LANDED IN THE SAME SPOT. CURRENTLY, IT'S NOT EXPLICITLY RESTRICTED FOR A EMPLOYEES FOR AN EMPLOYEE SPOUSE TO SERVE ON A BOARD, BUT THEY ARE. THE COUNCIL IS IN FAVOR OF EXCLUDING EMPLOYEE EMPLOYEE SPOUSES FROM SERVING ON BOARDS. IF YOU WANT TO HEAR THE DISCUSSION ON THAT, I WOULD GO LOOK AT THE AUGUST 26TH MEETING OR LISTEN TO IT.
