YEAH, WE SERVE AT THE BIDDING OF PRESS. HE WOULD LIKE. IF YOU'D LIKE US BOTH ON THIS SIDE. SO AS I MENTIONED EARLIER THIS EVENING , COUNCILMAN MICE HAS SERVED US FOR THE LAST 2.5 YEARS. HE ORIGINALLY PLANNED FOR THE FULL THREE. BUT HE AND I AND OTHERS ALL EXPERIENCED THE IMPACT OF COVID ON OUR COMMUNITY. UM THAT REALLY CAME ABOUT AFTER WE HAD FILED FOR POSITIONS. UM AND SINCE THEN HAS EXPERIENCED MANY DIFFERENT CHALLENGES THAT HAVE BEEN THROWN OUR WAY EVERYTHING FROM INFRASTRUCTURE TO BUDGETS TO WINTER STORMS, SO WE HAVE SEEN A LOT IN THE LAST FEW YEARS . AND I WANT TO THANK YOU FOR ALL THE TIME THAT YOU HAVE GIVEN TO THE CITY FOR THE HARD WORK.

AND I WANT TO PRESENT YOU WITH THIS AS A TOKEN OF GRATITUDE ON BEHALF OF THE CITY COUNCIL IN THE CITY. SO WE ARE BLESSED AND WILY TO HAVE AN AMAZING GROUP OF FIRST RESPONDERS, AND THAT DEFINITELY INCLUDES ARE WIDELY POLICE DEPARTMENT. THE JOB THAT THEY DO IN OUR COMMUNITY IS OUTSTANDING . THE FORWARD THINKING THAT THEY'VE HAD TO BRING INDIVIDUALS IN LIKE OUR MENTAL HEALTH COORDINATOR, THE OUTREACH THAT THEY HAVE PERFORMED IN OUR COMMUNITY, THE SERVICE THAT THEY HAVE PERFORMED DURING THINGS LIKE THE WINTER STORM. GOING AROUND AND HELPING PEOPLE TURN OFF WATER TO THEIR HOMES AND BUSINESSES. NOT TYPICALLY WHAT YOU WOULD THINK THAT A POLICE OFFICER WOULD BE OUT DOING, BUT IT IS WHAT A PUBLIC SERVANT DOES. AND WHEREAS LAW ENFORCEMENT PERSONNEL OR DEDICATED TO OUR COMMUNITY WORKING TIRELESSLY TO TRANSFORM NEIGHBORHOODS ACROSS OUR COUNTRY, IMPROVING OUR CITY AND UPHOLDING THE RULE OF LAW, WHEREAS PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICERS PUT THEIR LIVES ON THE LINE TO PROTECT OURS.
