Consider, and act upon, Resolution No. 2020-63(R) authorizing the City Manager to execute an Interlocal Agreement with Collin County for reimbursement of COVID-19 expenditures already paid and incurred related to public safety employees. Holsted, City Manager) Executive Summary On Monday, December 14th, the Collin County Commissioners Court agreed to distribute an additional $28 million to 13 Collin County cities to reimburse for public safety expenditures. The reimbursement to the City of Wylie totals $1,462,769.68 per the attached table. The City may use the funds for reimbursing COVID-19 expenditures already paid and incurred related to public safety employees, which includes, but is not limited to, police officers, fire marshals, emergency management, firefighters, emergency medical responders, correctional and detention officers, environmental health officers, and those who directly support such employees such as dispatchers and supervisory personnel.
Consider, and act upon, Ordinance No. 2020-65 amending Ordinance No. 2020-44 (2020-2021 Budget) for proposed budget amendments for fiscal year 2020-2021; providing for repealing, savings and severability clauses; and providing an effective date of this Ordinance. (M. Beard, Finance Director) Executive Summary On May 15, 2020 the City received $2,425,994 from Collin County for Coronavirus Relief. This money was recorded in our Emergency Operations Center Fund (140). After expenditures of $1,046,294 through December 17 and $564 of interest earned, $1,380,264 is still available for CARES expenditures in Fund 140. On December 14, Collin County Commissioners Court agreed to distribute an additional $28,639,067 to fourteen Collin County cities to allow reimbursement for public safety costs under the County’s Emergency Program. The City of Wylie’s proposed distribution is $1,462,769. This new distribution combined with the FY2020 remaining distribution provides approximately $2,843,033 that is available to reimburse public safety costs in the General Fund.
