Holsted, City Manager) Executive Summary On March 22, March 27, April 2, April 28, May 12, May 26, June 9, July 28, September 8, and October 13, 2020 the City Council adopted Ordinance Nos. 2020-24, 2020-25, 2020-26, 2020-29, 2020-31, 2020-35, 2020- 38, 2020-41, 2020-48, and 2020-53 which continued the Mayor’s Amended Declaration of Local Disaster for Public Health Emergency to help abate the public health threat resulting from the novel Coronavirus (COVID19); providing the consent of the City Council to the continuation of the Declaration until 11:59 p.m. on November 17, 2020.
Consider, and act upon, Resolution No. 2020-61(R) approving and authorizing the publication of Notice of Intention to issue Certificates of Obligation. (M. Beard, Finance Director) Executive Summary At the February 25, 2020 Council meeting/work session, a budget discussion for funding the construction of Fire Station 4 was held. Council directed staff to proceed with the issuance of debt for this purpose. The amount of debt to be issued is $5.6 million dollars which will fund the majority of the construction of the building. $3 million dollars was previously transferred from the General Fund Fund Balance to the Fire Station Construction Fund (461) and this cash will pay for the remaining portion of the construction as well as a quint and FF&E. The architectural design of the station ($737,850) and the CMAR fees ($630,000) are funded by revenue generated from the Fire Development Fund (133). The City already owns the land where the station will be constructed.
Consider, and act upon, the appointment of three-committee members to the City of Wylie City Council Subcommittee to represent the City of Wylie in meetings with the Wylie Independent School District City/Schools Partnerships Committee. The committee consists of three WISD Board of Trustee members and three City of Wylie Council members. The purpose of the committee is focused on discussing existing and new partnerships between the Wylie Independent School District and the City of Wylie.
