Diaz, Parks & Recreation Director) Executive Summary There was a request made to Parks and Recreation Department staff to rename Meadows of Birmingham and the new Birmingham Bluffs Parks to Reta Allen Park. Per the current policy on park naming the Parks and Recreation Board can make a recommendation on naming a park to the City Council based on certain criteria. Based on staff review, the name of Reta Allen Park does qualify due to Mrs. Allen’s many years of service and dedication on the Wylie City Council and her other great works throughout the Wylie community. Reta Allen served on the Wylie City Council for 16 years (1981-1983 and 1992-2006) and passed away November 6, 2012.
