Family Member (Aunt): Kim Combest, Wylie Resident Soldier: Tyler Michael Scalf • Tyler is the great grandson of PFC Jerry Wayne Combest, one of the namesakes of the Wylie American Legion post. See history on the following page. • Tyler is in the US Navy and joined February 10, 2015. • Tyler’s military service is following the footsteps of his grandfather, a great uncle, and a great grandfather. • He is an avid outdoorsman, loves hunting, camping, God, family and country. Parents: David and Barbara Goss Soldier: Austin David Goss • 2015 graduate of Wylie East High School, has lived in Wylie since 2001, and Austin attended Wylie schools K-12 grade • Married to his wife Rebecca Goss on July 2nd of 2017 • Enlisted on February 20 2018, left for basic training on February 27 2018 and finished basic training May 10 2018. • Currently in AIT training until July and then he will move to Airborne training Parents David and Barbara are so proud of him and shared: Austin is thrilled to be serving his country! He has always been extremely patriotic. He was that kid that always wore clothes with the American flag on it. He carried an Army rucksack for two years in Jr High as his backpack. He used to help his family pack care packages to send to deployed soldiers and would go with his family to greet troops as they were coming home at the airport.
