REGULAR AGENDA Hold the second Public Hearing on the proposed tax rate of $0.8489 for fiscal year 2016- 2017 and provide all interested persons an opportunity to be heard, either for or against the proposed tax rate; and announce the date, time and place of the meeting at which the Council will vote on the tax rate. Bantz, Finance Director) Executive Summary In accordance with the “Truth in Taxation” laws of the State of Texas, on August 9, 2016, the City Council voted on the proposed tax rate and scheduled two public hearings on the proposed tax rate. The first public hearing was held on August 23, 2016 and this is the second public hearing. The proposed 2016-17 budget is based on a tax rate of $0.8489 per $100 valuation. Any changes made to the proposed tax rate or Proposed Budget could affect required publications and steps in the tax rate and budget approval process.
EXECUTIVE SESSION Recess into Closed Session in compliance with Section 551.001, et.seq. Texas Government Code, to wit: §§Sec. 551.074. PERSONNEL MATTERS; CLOSED MEETING. (a) This chapter does not require a governmental body to conduct an open meeting: (1) to deliberate the appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline, or dismissal of a public officer or employee; or (2) to hear a complaint or charge against an officer or employee.
